There are people that you will spend hours, days, and months with that will never touch your life. Then there are people who you only see once in a blue moon; these people breeze in and out, yet they always seems to leave a deeper mark. Sometimes a scar, but more often than not, these people leave your heart a few sizes larger than before. The challenge is learning for whom to allow to make room in your heart and for whom to allow to never really touch you.

Tomorrow on Fresh Air: Film director and producer Chris Weitz.
His new film A Better Life, is about an illegal Mexican immigrant who tries to provide for his family, despite enormous difficulties. Weitz, whose own grandmother is from Mexico, also directed New Moon, from the Twilight series, American Pie and About a Boy.

To Be a Dreamer
No, not that kind of dreamer, who sees themselves in a different place in their lives in the future. Not the kind of dreamer who wants to change the world and yada yada yada.
To Be an actual Dreamer; one who falls asleep at night and sees the folds of the subconscious, the layers the the substrate of the mind; to be one who remembers the colors, lights, sounds, and characters, and who feels these things as if they were very real.
I dream. My dreams always mean something. Sometimes I have premonitions in my dreams. Often times, my dreams cue me into some anxiety that I am feeling but have not identified yet. With the information from my dreams, I can identify and deal with whatever is making me uncomfortable.
Recently, my dreams have been school related. Last night, I dreamt that I showed up to class in high school and did not have ANY of my homework completed. In a mad dash, I had to ask my friend Julie if I could copy her homework. I believe this dream is a reflection that I am nervous about applying to graduate school. My friend Julie has already started graduate school, therefore it makes sense that she would be the one I would “copy” the answers from. I will work on controlling this stress before it ruins my mood. I will also work on figuring out graduate school.
